1971 Ford Fairlane in Karanja, TAS. 1971 Ford FairlaneCustom. We have been told by previous owner that this car was ordered for theArmy as it is a 250 Pre Crossflow with a 3 speed manual coloum shift box. Badgedand sold as a fairlane custom very rare car was not in service for long and wassold to a SA resident who had it in storage for about 10 years. It was then soldto an elderly man in Bendigo Victoria who has had it kept in a shippingcontainer on his property for the last 20 odd years. This car is like new andhas travelled only 17000 miles I know its hard to believe but we are told it isgenuine. We have the original owners hand book showing this to be genuine. Bodyis excelent has just had new bonnet and guards had to be painted to match as thebonnet blew up on the highway and was damaged. Repairs were done by one of thebest panel shops in Tassie Micra Accident Repair Centre. The rest of the paintis good looks like it has had a few touch ups over the years but still verypresentable has a good shine. No rust anywhere chrome and trims are in is the best I have seen for an original one adds to the proofof the low milage. Carpet has a little wear on it but seats are magnificent andstill soft with no cracks. Dash has a small crack but only small. All therubbers are good and the instrument cluster is like new no age marks at all. Allthe windows operate smooth as well as the door locks and all vent cables aresmooth and operate like new. The boot is perfect the rubber mat is still softand looks like new as well as the fuel tank and timber panels which look likethey just rolled out of the factory.
